Fabiola Pacheco es parte de WIM100 Chile 2026, iniciativa de Women in Mining Chile que distingue a mujeres por su liderazgo, trayectoria y aporte al desarrollo de la industria minera.
Santiago, septiembre de 2026.- Fabiola Pacheco, Operations Manager Chile de Ausenco, resalta entre las 100 mujeres reconocidas en WIM100 Chile 2026, iniciativa impulsada por Women in Mining Chile (WIM) para visibilizar las historias profesionales y aportes de mujeres que contribuyen al desarrollo de la industria minera.
La nueva edición de este premio distingue a mujeres en las categorías Ejecutivas, Empresarias, Fuerza de Mujer, Académicas e Investigadoras y Talento Emergente, reconociendo distintas experiencias y roles dentro del ecosistema minero.
El reconocimiento adquiere especial relevancia en un escenario donde la industria enfrenta el desafío de atraer nuevas generaciones. Según el estudio “Atracción de talento joven hacia la minería chilena”, elaborado por CESCO, el 53,4% de las universitarias encuestadas señala que trabajaría en minería, mientras que el 53,9% reconoce tener poco o nada de conocimiento sobre el sector. Tales cifras reflejan la importancia de acercar la actividad a nuevos talentos y ampliar sus referentes.
Trayectoria al servicio de la minería
Ingeniera Civil con mención en Hidráulica, Sanitaria y Ambiental de la Universidad de Chile, Fabiola Pacheco cuenta con más de 20 años de experiencia en la industria de ingeniería y minería, con trayectoria en Chile, Perú y Argentina. A lo largo de su carrera ha liderado equipos multidisciplinarios y proyectos de alta complejidad en minería y metales, con experiencia en infraestructura, plantas concentradoras e instalaciones de lixiviación, desde las etapas iniciales hasta la ingeniería de detalle.
En Ausenco, la ejecutiva lidera equipos vinculados a acuerdos marco con clientes y contribuye al desarrollo de las operaciones de la compañía en Chile, integrando gestión, experiencia técnica y foco en la calidad, los plazos y el desempeño de los proyectos. “Recibo esta distinción como un reconocimiento al trabajo que hemos construido junto a distintos equipos y clientes durante estos años. En minería, incorporar diversas miradas y trabajar con apertura nos permite comprender mejor los desafíos, tomar mejores decisiones y desarrollar soluciones más alineadas con las necesidades de cada proyecto. Por su parte, Marcelo Henríquez, Vice President Minerals and Metals Chile de Ausenco, expresó que el reconocimiento a Fabiola Pacheco refleja la importancia de seguir ampliando la participación de mujeres en la industria y generando espacios para el desarrollo de talento diverso.

Este compromiso se complementa con iniciativas de Ausenco como Women@Ausenco, el Programa de Graduados y sus programas de mentoría, centradas en incrementar las oportunidades de desarrollo y crecimiento para las mujeres dentro de la compañía. Fabiola Pacheco has been selected for WIM100 Chile 2026, an initiative led by Women in Mining Chile that recognizes women for their leadership, professional careers and contributions to the development of the mining industry.
Santiago, september 2026.- Fabiola Pacheco, Ausenco’s Operations Manager Chile, has been named among the 100 women recognized in WIM100 Chile 2026, an initiative led by Women in Mining Chile (WIM) to showcase women’s professional journeys and contributions of women who are helping shape the mining industry.
The latest edition of this prestigious award recognizes women across five categories—Executives, Entrepreneurs, Women of Strength, Academics and Researchers, and Emerging Talent—highlighting the diverse experiences and roles women play across the mining ecosystem.
The recognition comes as the industry continues to face the challenge of attracting new generations of talent. According to the study “Attracting Young Talent to Chile’s Mining Industry”, conducted by CESCO, 53.4% of female university students surveyed said they would consider working in mining, while 53.9% reported having little or no knowledge of the industry. These figures highlight the importance of bringing the sector closer to new talent and broadening the range of industry role models.
A career dedicated to the mining industry
A Civil Engineer specializing in Hydraulics, Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the University of Chile, Fabiola Pacheco has more than 20 years of experience in engineering and mining, with a professional career spanning Chile, Peru and Argentina. Throughout her career, she has led multidisciplinary teams and complex mining and metals projects, with experience in infrastructure, concentrator plants and leaching facilities, from early-stage studies through detailed engineering.
At Ausenco, Pacheco leads teams supporting framework agreements with clients and contributes to the development of the company’s operations in Chile, combining management expertise and technical knowledge with a strong focus on project quality, schedule and performance. “I receive this recognition as an acknowledgement of the work we have built alongside different teams and clients over the years. In mining, bringing together diverse perspectives and working with openness enables us to better understand challenges, make stronger decisions and develop solutions that are better aligned with each project’s needs.
